Hi there, I’m Virginia! We’d like to introduce you to Unleashed Canine Obedience, LLC., which is a small dog training business owned and run entirely by women committed to offering the absolute best training and care to both our clients and pups.
My daughter and I have always been the “girls with dogs”. We have a deep passion for animals and have felt called for many years to help in any way we can, whether that be through adoption and fostering prior to starting my own business, or as trainers today. The animals themselves are our passion and making their life as enjoyable as possible through training that prioritizes communication between pups and people is what we aim to do.
Over the years, we have worked tirelessly to research, study, and deliver the highest standard of care and training methods to help your dogs become the best version of themselves and guide our clients into happy relationships with their dogs. Rather than focusing solely on obedience, we seek to work from the inside out teaching your dog relaxation as a skill set, and creating the mindset where they will actually prefer to relax. Alayna Simpson, Dog Trainer
Throughout my life, I have always worked with animals. I spent my summers on our family farm in Arkansas where we bred and trained mules for rodeos and trail riding and, when not on the farm, I was helping my father out at his veterinary clinic. Through these experiences, I found a deep love for animals and have always felt a special connection with dogs in particular.
My mom, Virginia Simpson, began training dogs in 2005, then started her own dog training company in 2008. I remember sitting with her thinking of company names at the kitchen table and working with the dogs from the beginning. After college in 2014, I started working full time with Unleashed Canine Obedience and have been loving it ever since.
It is extremely gratifying to build relationships with dogs by helping them become more present and relaxed. Watching each dog build confidence and enjoy hiking is absolutely magical—nothing is better than hiking in the woods with a big group of off-leash dogs!
At my core, I am a fun loving, energetic dog enthusiast. I love being in nature with my dogs and enjoying outdoor activities like kayaking and rock climbing. I love eating delicious food, dancing to great music, and trying new things!
I want to create a beautiful space in this world where animals and people are able to have fun in nature with their community. Come along for the ride!

After finishing graduate school, I wanted to work for people I loved and believed in and found that at Unleashed Canine Obedience with Virginia and Alayna! Although my background is in the humanities, I appreciate this work because I enjoy learning new things and cherish those moments when that gets to happen for someone else.
I want this business to grow (in many different ways!) so that more people have access to these training techniques, making their life more enjoyable. At the end of the day, I hope people walk away from us feeling encouraged and confident, not only about their relationship with their pup, but in all aspects of their life.
